VRNs (22.12.2011) – Tám công dân Mỹ đã gửi đến ông David Shea, Đại sứ Hoa Kỳ tại Việt Nam về trường hợp của Paulus Lê Sơn, một nhà báo tự do Công giáo, một thanh niên can đảm lên tiếng cho công lý và sự thật đang bị tạm giam, trong khi mẹ ruột của anh đang hấp hối tại bệnh viện tỉnh Thanh Hóa. Trong thư đề nghị ông Đại sứ can thiệp nhân đạo để Sơn có thể gặp mặt mẹ. Theo nguồn tin riêng của VRNs, công an tại trại giam B14, Thanh Trì, Hà Nội đã trả lời gia đình Lê Sơn rằng họ không thấy tên của bà Đỗ Thị Tần trên website của bệnh viện tỉnh Thanh Hóa!!!
Theo tin mới nhận sáng nay, 22/12/2011, bốn gia đình tại tỉnh Nghệ An đã được gặp mặt người thân của họ tại trại giam B14, Thanh Trì, Hà Nội. Đó là các gia đình anh Nguyễn Xuân Anh, Nguyễn Văn Oai, Nguyễn Văn Duyệt và Thái Văn Dung. Chúng tôi sẽ thông tin khi có diễn tiến mới.

Dear Ambassador David Shea,
We just received the information that Mrs. Do Thi Tan the mother of Paul Le Van Son is in the emergecy room at the hospital at Thanh Hoa. Her condition is very bad, she wishes to see her son before she passes away.
Paulus Le Son is a freelance journalist being held in the B14 Prison, at Thanh Tri, Hanoi for over 4 months now. But none of his family have met with him in recent times, but only sent supplies and money.
The authorities are citing the investigation process should not allow visitors to meet, but actually they want to use this to supply, when relatives of the litigants are anxious to see their children. This is the essence of inhumanity that the Vietnam government’s policy is to treat it’s detainees.
The family said Paul Le Son will recommend lawyers to intervene in case he can not meet his mother while she is ill. However, inherent in the policy, is that we hope the authorities behave in this event to allow Paul Le Son to see his mother.
We believe you can help him make this a reality with this situation. It is a special situation because Paul is the very first child of his family. We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
